OOTD: A sunny day in London

May 27, 2012

♥ Dress - H&M
♥ Bag - Primark
♥ Shoes - Primark
♥ Bracelet - Pandora

I can't think of the last time I did an 'Outfit of the Day' post. I am no fashion blogger but do like seeing other people's outfits and so thought I'd share what I wore yesterday. As you can tell, the photo wasn't taken purposely for an OOTD post- my bag is half open, you can't see my face and I am carrying a plastic drink cup (classy!) but you get the idea!

We've had an amazing few days of hot and sunny weather in the UK. It has been amazing to make the most of the sunshine in London and yesterday was spent on Clapham Common and then drinking and eating in a few places along the Southbank. The photo was taken outside the Royal Festival Hall which always has something fun to have a photo taken next to!

London City Walks: Chelsea

May 20, 2012

I bought this little box of London City Walks a few weeks ago. If you live in London and want to explore the city more it's a real must-have (mine was £10 from Oliver Bonas but I'm sure you can buy it cheaper). There are 50 cards which each have a different walk and a commentary on what sights and places you can visit along the way. Whilst Chris and I are living in London we want to see as much as possible- for as cheap as possible, and yesterday we embarked on our first walk.

We chose the 2 cards which cover walks in Chelsea. I am an avid fan of Made in Chelsea- it always looks so beautiful on screen and so I was keen to see more in the area. The walk took us to the Saatchi Gallery (which was probably the best gallery I've visited in London since moving here), Kings Road, Chelsea Farmer's Market and to the neighbourhoods around Chelsea. We skipped the last part of the second walk as our feet were hurting so finished with a stroll along the embankment back to the bus.

I thought it would be nice to share photos from all of the walks that I will be hopefully doing so here are a few Instagram images from today's Chelsea walk!

L'Occitane Pivoine Delicate Collection

May 18, 2012

Following their successful launch last year of the Pivoine Flora Eau De Parfum, L'Occitane have created a new limited edition collection called Pivoine Delicate. The range is inspired by a rare peony flower found in Mr Riviere's nursery, in Provence.

The range is centred around their new Eau de Toilette and has absolutely beautiful packaging (I would have photographed the outer packaging but it got squished en route *sad face*). I haven't bought anything for myself from L'Occitane before but we did buy my boyfriend's Mum a special Mothers Day gift set with the Cherry Blossom products. She loved it and I did too- the presentation and the quality of the products makes L'Occitane an absolutely perfect gift.

I have the Eau De Toilette (£35), the Hand Cream (£14) and the Shimmering Powder (£22) to try and although I'm yet to have much of a play they smell absolutely divine. The Eau De Toilette is floral and girly and if you like fragrances like Marc Jacobs Daisy and Miss Dior Cherie then I'm sure you will love this. The hand cream is a clever little thing as it has a twistable lid so you don't need to take it off (and lose it somewhere which happens A LOT with hand creams) and the shimmering powder is a product that I would never usually buy but seems like a fun idea.

Are you a fan of L'Occitane? What are your favourite products from their range?

Say hello to Liz Earle Colour!

May 15, 2012

Liz Earle began their foray into colour last year with their Sheer Skin Tint. This went down a treat in the beauty world and the excitement continues as they are now launching their new Colour capsule collection which includes all-time favourites, can’t live without heroes, must-have shades and make up artist secrets- you can view the full collection on their website which includes videos on how to use the products and make-up tips.

I have been sent three products from the collection to try:

Liz Earle Perfect Fix Concealer £13.50 - "No make up bag should be without our highly-pigmented, lightweight concealer to disguise blemishes, minor skin imperfections and dark circles. Our creamy formula blends easily, without dragging the delicate under-eye area. Enriched with a derivative of natural source vitamin E."

Liz Earle Lash Care Intensifying Mascara £10.50 - "Our creamy mascara base is the perfect lash preparation for mascara, quickly drying to a transparent finish. Wear the smooth, lightweight formula under your Liz Earle mascara, to make lashes look thicker and longer. Enriched with our own blend of natural source vitamin E and natural oils, specially selected to help condition your lashes."

Liz Earle Lash Definition Smudgeproof Mascara £14.50 - "Our unique mascara is water-resistant, flake-free and long-lasting, and glides on smoothly to perfectly define each lash. The specially designed brush allows you to make the most of even the shortest lashes, helping to create length and definition. Enriched with natural source vitamin E."

I haven't tried any of the products yet but I am most excited about the concealer as a quick swatch on my hand revealed it to be lovely and creamy. I am also intrigued about what difference the mascara base will make. Have you tried any of the Liz Earle make-up range yet?

ColcaSap iPad2 Sleeve

May 14, 2012

I have been searching for an iPad sleeve for a while and this ColcaSac* one caught my eye straightaway. I chose it from the brilliant website, GearZap which has a great range of cases for the iPad 3 and sells a selection of the ColcoSac range.

I went for the Uintah sleeve and absolutely love it. It is made from natural materials making it eco-friendly and has a recycled fleece lining so the iPad is really protected. I also love the little pocket on the front which is ideal for carrying my iPad charger or any other bits and bobs that I can fit in there.

What iPad case or sleeve do you use?

Pandora bracelet

May 12, 2012

I've finally jumped on the Pandora bandwagon and have my very own bracelet. My parents bought me a starter set which came with two clips and the Sterling Silver Heart Open Work Charm. On Saturday when I was shopping I was bought my second charm to add to the bracelet - Sterling Silver Sea Shell Charm. My parents said I could choose one and this caught my eye straightaway- as we have had many beach and camping holidays I thought this was very appropriate as a family charm.

The Pandora website has a great feature called the Bracelet Designer where you can create your bracelet and then choose different charms to add- really helpful for deciding which charm you want to purchase next as it can be a bit overwhelming in the shop with so many to choose from! I am going to keep my charms mainly silver and add some with a touch of blue in. If you have a Pandora bracelet do you keep to a colour scheme? How many charms do you own?

I am in love with my Pandora. I have always enjoyed charm bracelets but found that I rarely wore them as they would clink on my keyboard at work or catch on clothing. This is perfect for embodying what a charm bracelet represents whilst also being easy to wear.

Recent buys

May 08, 2012

I hope everyone has had a lovely bank holiday weekend? Mine has been lovely. I saw Lost Prophets at Brixton Academy on Friday night which was brilliant and then spent the rest of the time with my parents in Surrey.

We spent some time shopping in Guildford and I bought a few bits and bobs. I finally purchased Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua (in shade 20 Beige) which I've wanted to try for ages but haven't been able to justify the £31 cost. Luckily I had a £15 birthday voucher for House of Fraser which I put towards it and am very excited to use this. The Chanel counter assistant was absolutely lovely and gave me a sample of one of their new Levres Scintillantes lipglosses in 166 Amour.

I also bought the new Models Own nail polish in Indian Ocean which I saw on Fleur's blog and knew I had to have it- it's taken me a while to find a Boots or Superdrug that sells it! The combination with Barry M's Berry Ice Cream is divine so is going to be my choice of nail varnish this week.

Finally, I have run out of all my cleansers so was in dire need of a new one. Ideally I'd splash out on a fancy new one but we are trying to save and so I found one that I had enough Boots points to buy- this was the Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Lotion. I used it last night and it smells lovely and feels really moisturising- you just massage in and rinse off. My only concern is that it's for dry skin (mine is combination- I didn't read the label before buying, doh) but it will do for now!

Fashion For Home

May 06, 2012
♥ Marina Memo Board (link) ♥ Iowa Coat Rack (link) ♥ Marina Shoe Cabinet (link)
♥ Poetique Box Set (link♥ Poetique Mirror (link)

Fashion for Home is an online shop that aims to make exclusive designer furniture available for everyone- their design team works hard to research and keep up with the latest trends in the furniture world to bring the latest in design for a more reasonable price (they do this with a fancy business model which means that items are only produced once you have ordered).

The shop prides itself on its great customer service and I think my favourite part of the website is the voting area where you can review and vote for your favourite items- the most popular ones will make it into the online shop.

The website is a treat to explore and there are so many gorgeous home items- of which my favourites are displayed above. If only I had room for the Marina Shoe Cabinet!

Ted Baker Shyla Bobble Purse

May 04, 2012

I have mentioned before that for birthdays my friends from University and I all group our money together to buy each other a nice present. I always look forward to the present from the Uni girls- they always make great present choices and I've always loved my gift. This year I received a lovely floral pj set from Accessorize and the Ted Baker Shyla Bobble Purse.

I adore this purse. It is a good size for fitting into my bag but opens up to reveal 12 card compartments and two 'slots' for notes. The lining on the coin compartment is gorgeous too. Not to mention the amazing yellow patent colour.

Glamour July Issue - Benefit Freebies!

May 02, 2012

Just a small post today with a heads up for the next issue of Glamour which will be on sale on May 31st (I'm not even sure whether the June issue is on sale yet as I subscribe!). Glamour magazine are doing another issue with 3 fantastic Benefit freebies. You can choose from:

"that gal" brightening face primer 7.5ml - worth £15
the POREfessional 7.5ml - worth £10
BADgal lash mascara - worth £10

I will be going for the "that gal" brightening face primer as I tried it when my friend came over and I really liked it. Also quite tempting to buy the POREfessional as it's such a great travel size product. The only offering I'm not fussed about is BADgal lash mascara as have tried this before and wasn't a big fan.

Will you be picking up this issue of Glamour at the end of May? Which freebie will you be choosing?

Clinique Compact Colour

May 01, 2012

When I was in St Ives a week or so ago, I was presented with this lovely birthday gift from my friends- the Clinique Compact Colour. It's a dinky little compact with a mirror both on the outside and inside of the palette which is really handy.

The compact consists of one blushing blush in bashful blush, two butter shine lipsticks in pink goddess and delovely and a colour surge eye duo in strawberry fudge. It also includes a blush brush and a retractable lip brush.

It was an ideal present for our weekend getaway and I have used it a few times since receiving it. I am in love with the strawberry fudge eyeshadow duo and have been using the darker shade on my lid with the pink layered over. The blush is also really flattering and a gorgeous pinky/brown. I am yet to try the lipsticks properly although fear they may bit a little dark for me!

Have you tried many items from the Clinique make-up range?
