An introduction to BeautecoBox

April 29, 2013
Yes, another beauty box has hit the market but don't despair- this one has a difference. BeautecoBox launches on the 3rd May and rather than simply being sent a box of beauty samples each month you have the option to choose from 3 boxes, each with a different mix of products. As BeautecoBox grows the product choice will become more varied.

BeautecoBox also pride themselves on being environmentally friendly as they use a 100% recyclable box, use as little material as possible in the box and by avoiding high carbon materials.

Within each box there are 5 products which include 1 or 2 star products and 3 or 4 trial samples. The box that I chose included the following:

Anatomicals Body Scrub - 'Infused with fresh and invigorating melon and mint extracts. This
clever deep cleanser will leave skin fabulously fragranced throughout the day.'

Anatomicals Hand Cream - 'Anatomicals moisturising hand cream will leave your hands feeling super soft. Contains sweet almond oil and vitamin E.'

♥  Mitchell & Peach Body Cream - 'This indulgent body cream, containing honey, organic cocoa and Vitmain B5, rubs in easily, without stickiness.'
♥  Dr Bragi Age Management Moisturiser - 'Dr Bragi's versatile facial moisturiser helps to reduce the signs of ageing by fighting the effects of environmental stress, preventing the breakdown of collagen and supporting optimal cell function.'

Melvita Cleansing Oil Rose - 'Melvita's rich, creamy cleanser effectively removes make-up and impurities with ultra-gentle action whilst preventing dryness. It has a delicious fresh floral scent with delicate hints of honey.'

I am most looking forward to trying the cleansing oil as RRP for the full size is £27 so it should perform well. Also love the Anatomicals packaging- it will definitely brighten up the bathroom!

The BeautecoBox will cost £10 plus £2.95 P&P per month. Would you be interested in subscribing or do you prefer your beauty box to be a total surprise every month?

SewLomax Cupcake Wash Bag

April 27, 2013

How cute is this Cupcake Wash Bag* from SewLomax? I love it and it is oh so appropriate for being featured on Cupcakes and Cherries! It is a great size for a beauty blogger (ie. plenty of room for products) with elastic loops to hold lotions and potions, and it also benefits from a water resistant lining.

SewLomax is an eco-friendly London based embroidered canvas bag company which was set up by Emma Lomax in 2011. Each one of the bags is ethically sourced, feature an embroidered design created by Emma, and they are all hand finished and protected with Scotchguard so they're wipe clean too. The collection includes a great range of canvas items including makeup bags, wash bags, tote bags and laptop bags. I had a great browse of the site and the canvas poo bag holder for dogs really caught my eye- not the most glamorous of items but far nicer than shoving poo bags in your pocket! (oh the glam of having a pooch in the family).

SewLomax are on Twitter and also have a blog which is great as there are blog posts from Emma explaining the reason behind each design for the bags- a lovely touch!

The cupcake wash bag costs £32 and all of the canvas bags can be found on their website.

Florida purchases

April 22, 2013
The last time I went to Florida was in 2008 and my beauty addiction was only just starting. Fast forward to 2013 and I was so excited to buy some make-up from the states. I bought most of it from our nearest Wal-Mart and I was like a kid in a candy shop- so much make-up at such low prices! Amazing. I also paid visits to Target, JC Penney (with a Sephora inside) and CCO.

I have only tried a few bits and pieces so will include my initial thoughts but will probably do a more in-depth post on some of the products when I've given them a proper try.

So without further ado, here are my purchases:

I found these miniature sized Ojon hair products in a CCO at the Orlando Premium Outlets. I've been wanting to give Ojon a whirl for some time but couldn't part with the money for the full-size. These mini versions are great for my to try and my hair is in need of a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner after the hot Florida weather!

Mascaras are a lot cheaper in the US so I wanted to stock up on a few. I love the L'Oreal Voluminous mascara and so bought this version with the curved wand. I also decided to try the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara and the Maybelline Mega Plush. Finally, I picked up the CoverGirl Lash Blast as I adore this mascara.

I bought a few products for my eyes. The Maybelline Lasting Drama gel eyeliner is meant to be a good one so I was keen to try. I also purchased a couple of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's - one in 35 Tough as Taupe (top of photo) and the second in 70 Barely Branded. I have tried the taupe colour and absolutely love it. They are going to be perfect for summer. I also bought a set of two CoverGirl brow pencils as I am quickly running out of my ELF brow powder- they can also be used as eyeliner which is always a bonus.

I only bought two foundations as Wal-Mart didn't have testers of the shades. I could have bought more but didn't want to get home and realise that none of the colours matched my skin. I went for the Revlon Nearly Naked in 120 Vanilla and Rimmel Match Perfection in 120 Ivory.

I bought three of the Maybelline Baby Lips - the third isn't pictured but is the blue version which is just an SPF with no colour. I used the blue tube over the holiday and loved it- so moisturising and the bright tube meant that it was always easy to find in my bag! I also purchased a Burt's Bees balm as really rate these.

I was so happy to find a Sephora in the JC Penney that we visited. I was very restrained and only bought two things- the Tarte Amazonian clay blush in blissful and the NARS blush/ bronzing powder duo in Orgasm and Laguna. I think the latter is my favourite purchase as I am yet to try these much loved NARS products.
