L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Skincare

October 30, 2013
L'Oreal Paris have introduced a new skincare range aimed at women in their 20s and 30s. It is the first formulation from the brand that includes a correcting molecule called LR2412 and a new complex called PERLINE-P which is a pore reducing and redness minimising agent. All wrapped up in some lovely pink packaging which attracted me to it straightway! Love a skincare product that looks great on your dressing table.

The range has been developed for women in their 20s and 30s and focuses on helping skin imperfections such as irregular tone, open pores and an uneven skin texture. The range currently includes five products including the above - a serum and moisturiser.

The Advanced Correcting Serum* costs £19.99 and contains both LR2412 and PERLINE-P to refine skin texture, tighten pores and even and brighten skin tone. It can be applied every morning and evening before using the moisturiser- or simply alone.

The Correcting Day Moisturiser* costs £14.99 is a perfecting day cream that contains PERLINE-P to improve visible skin quality. It can be applied every morning.

I have been using both products over the past few weeks and have been really impressed with them- the moisturiser is probably the best I've ever tried. Aswell as looking lovely, they smell really good and absorb super quickly into the skin, whilst feeling silky and smooth on the skin. The serum makes for a great make-up base and both leave my skin looking bright. It's too soon to notice any huge changes to my skin but I'm enjoying using the products and have high hopes for them.

Have you tried any products from the L'Oreal Skin Perfection range?

Review: Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Powder

October 27, 2013

Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Powder*

£6.99 RRP

What does it claim to do?

"Maybelline's first waterproof powder that ensures you stay looking shine free all day long. With Maybelline's water resistant technology, shine-causing oil is attracted to the silicone elastomer treated powder, allowing for all day shine control and a flexible and comfortable feel on the skin. Preventing that tight, cakey feeling sometimes associated with long wearing cosmetics" - Maybelline

What do I think?

For the past few years I have only really used my MAC MSF natural powder - which I really love. I go through phases with using powder and seem to use it more in Autumn/Winter (which doesn't really make sense, I guess in Summer I just like to wear less make-up).

The SuperStay 24 hour Powder comes in a standard compact with a mirror and a powder sponge. I chose the shade 'Ivory' and this was a perfect match for my skin. There are only four shades available so hopefully more will be added.

The powder feels very creamy to apply and provides a light-medium coverage. I only apply it to my t-zone and find that it takes away any shine immediately. It's also great for touching up throughout the day and perking up my foundation.

It is a long-lasting powder, although it's hard to judge how waterproof it is. I also can't comment on whether it lasts 24 hours as would never wear my make-up for so long. But overall - I really like this powder. It's a good price, has a lovely creamy and dewy finish and is easy to apply.

Would I re-purchase?

Autumn Wishlist

Autumn wants

5. H&M Scarf - £4 (reduced!)

The past few days have really felt like Autumn. We've been a bit spoilt this summer (not complaining at all!) with weeks of lovely sunshine and a mild September - now it feels like Autumn/Winter has begun.

Our new flat looks out to parkland and we have trees lining our road- the leaves are starting to change and crunch under my feet as I walk home. I really love Autumn - minus the days like today when it's rainy, windy and you just want to race home and get warm.

I've chosen six items that would set me up for this Autumn. I love a good blanket which is why it's first on the list - Chris and I can often be found snuggled under a blanket each (such oldies!) and they are a permanent fixture on our sofas. I also chose the Lush Cinders bath bomb and the Neom Organics Real Luxury candle to fill the home with delicious scents. Baths are my favourite in the colder months, especially when there are candles and bath bombs to make it even more of a relaxing experience.

I often look for a new bag for the Autumn months and love this offering from Topshop. I do enjoy a large bag to lug around- although it does end up filled with rubbish!

I feel that a tartan scarf is essential for the next few months which is why I found this bargain from H&M - they are great for brightening up an outfit and for cheering you up when you feel hidden under a coat. And finally - these gorgeous slippers from UGG which are the most cosy things ever! I'm very tempted to get these when I'm in the US next year.

What are you wishing for this Autumn?
