Love Me Beauty - April 2014 Box

April 18, 2014
Yesterday I received the April Love Me Beauty Box and it is my favourite one so far - mostly because I just love hair products and treatments, and also because three out of the four products are full-size. Awesome. As always with Love Me Beauty, every month you can choose your favourite menu out of three options.

Here is what was inside:

Neal & Wolf Ritual Daily Cleansing Shampoo (RRP £11.50) - 'Designed to cleanse hair, leaving it fresh, full of shine and ready for styling. An infusion of silk and milk proteins combine to boost vital moisture and reduce flyaway hair.'

Betty Hula Secret Wonder Oil Roller Ball (RRP £6.25) - 'This newest addition to the Betty Hula range is a highly versatile and great smelling moisturising oil. Suitable for all skin types, it boosts the skin's natural moisture barrier to promote radiance, whilst the roller ball works to encourage circulation through gentle massage.'

Redken Colour Extend Conditioner (RRP £9.99 for full size) - 'A conditioner for colour treated hair to resurface the cuticle for a smooth, vibrant finish. Detangles and provides protection from fading agents while restoring colour vibrancy.'

Models Own Nail Polish in Fuzzy Peach (RRP £5) - 'Stay on trend right down to the tips of your toes. Models Own nail polishes glide on smoothly and are hardwearing and long lasting.'

♥ Also included in the box were a couple of bonus items- two sachets of the Melvita Stretch Mark Massage Oil and £25 off

I am yet to try everything in the box but as I mentioned above, I love the contents. I have tried the Neal & Wolf cleansing shampoo and was quite impressed- I like to use a cleansing/clarifying shampoo regularly as do use Batiste on my hair a lot and this did the job. I'm not overly keen on the scent- it's hard to describe- a bit like old school soap?!

I adore Redken haircare so was most excited about this product and will be taking it on holiday with me as it's a handy travel size. I will also be wearing the Models Own nail polish to Florida as it's a great sunshine shade.

You can subscribe to Love Me Beauty here- boxes are £10 plus P&P each month.

Stress (noun)

A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances

Cocoon (verb)

Envelop in a protective or comforting way

Stress is a huge part of life nowadays. Busy lives, social pressures and the ever constant connection technology means that more people are suffering from stress and there are far more people struggling with anxiety and depression.

This April, Neom is encouraging people to take the #NeomStressLessChallenge - a programme designed to balance the emotions and soothe the soul. Central to this is their Cocooning candle which has to be one of my favourite Neom scents. The candle has a blend of six key oils, including anxiety-reducing Roman chamomile, deeply relaxing jasmine and three citrus essential oils (mandarin, lemon and orange) to combat blue feelings and boost immunity.

So the challenge is pretty simple:

Step 1 ) Light your Neom Cocooning candle and allow the aroma-therapeutic air to gently scent the space.

Step 2) Leave lit for at least 1-2 hours to feel the full effects of this calming treatment.

Step 3) Use once or repeat during stressful periods and keep track of your stress levels to report on your treatment.

I am all about finding new ways to relax and to help calm my mind. I've just had the busiest three months of my year and so am enjoying being able to totally chill out when I come home. The Cocooning candle is the perfect welcome home.

Neom have also launched an ezine which covers all things stress and is a great read- you can find it here.

March Favourites: My Top Three

April 01, 2014

I missed out on my February favourites, and generally haven't been very good at blogging over the past few weeks! It has been the busiest time of year for me at work so most evenings I have been coming home and flaking out on the sofa. Enough of the excuses though, here are my top three products from March!

♥ Organic Surge Extra Care Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser - I blogged about this new offering from Organic Surge recently (here) and am still absolutely loving it. My skincare at the moment seems to be working wonders for my skin and this is definitely contributing. It's so lovely to use, removes all of my make-up and leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised.

Have also just been told that Organic Surge are having a flash 24 hour sale with 40% off selected products- definitely worth a look here.

♥ La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ - as I mentioned above my skincare has been working really well for me and this is a key part of my regime. I apply it after cleansing, and before moisturising so that it gets to work overnight. Since using it my skin has been clearer and I've not had any spots pop up - my skin just feels so much better generally. Hooray!

♥ Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation - A few months ago I was lucky enough to get tickets to a L'Oreal sample sale and this was one of the products I picked up. I really wanted the Luminous Silk foundation but sadly they didn't have it available, so I snapped this up instead. The shade is slightly too dark for me at the moment, but I've been mixing it with lighter shades of foundation to get it perfect and have been loving it. The foundation is designed for normal to oily skin and is a medium coverage. It is water-based so you need to shake it before using, and reminds me of Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere (which I also love). It leaves a lovely finish and a little goes a long way.
