Beauty: My Favourite Makeup Brushes

September 20, 2015

Today I wanted to share my all-time favourite make-up brushes. Buying good quality brushes has made such a difference as to how I apply make-up and are a great investment - the two MAC brushes I have were purchased in 2009 and they are still going strong!

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I bought this as part of the Real Techniques Core Collection last year in Florida and have used it most days ever since. It makes applying foundation an absolute dream - it blends quickly, leaves a natural finish and you can have your base done in just a couple of minutes. It's also super soft. Out of all my brushes - this is my number 1.

Real Techniques Contour Brush - this was another brush included in the Core Collection and it's great for precision countouring, although to be honest I use it more to apply blush.

Sonia Kashuk brush (I'm not sure of the exact name!) - I purchased this a few years ago when Sonia Kashuk sold brushes through SpaceNK - unfortunately I'm not sure you can still get it although there are many similar brushes. The handle has a really ergonomic design and I use this every day to fill in my brows with MAC's Omega eyeshadow.

MAC 226 Small Tapered Blending Brush - this was a limited edition MAC brush which came out a few years ago and everyone in the blogging community raved about it. I remember being so pleased to get hold of it as it sold out in many MAC stores! I love it for blending eyeshadow into the crease. I don't think you can buy the 226 now but the 224 is very similar.

MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush - I absolutely adore this brush and it's been with me for many years! It's such a great brush for applying eyeshadow as really packs on the colour. You can find it on MAC's website here.
