Life: Q&A a day - 5 year journal

February 22, 2015

I was sure I'd posted about this journal when I bought it three years ago but can't seem to find a post! I think I'm getting old! This is such a genius idea for a diary - there is a question to answer every day and you do this for five years so you can see how your answers change, and reflect the changes in your life.

I used to religiously write a daily diary but as I got older I found that I had less time to dedicate to doing it, and after a long day at work I'd get into bed and want to go straight to sleep rather than writing all about my day. This is perfect as it takes two seconds and I have it as part of my nighttime routine so I rarely forget to do it.

As you can see, my writing is not neat, and I also forget which year we are in quite regularly!

You can buy this journal for around £10 on Amazon.

Beauty: My Little Frenchie Box

February 14, 2015

After being slightly disappointed with January's 'My Little Box' I was very happy with the contents of 'My Little Frenchie Box'*. It may even be my favourite box yet!

The box comes with the usual mixture of lifestyle, beauty and fashion products which are always accompanied by the My Little World magazine and a lovely print.

First up is a smartphone case which I'm going to be using for phone when I have it in my bag - I always just leave my iPhone loose in there and it's a disaster waiting to happen! It should hopefully make it easier to find too so I'm not rummaging for hours (I really need to stop carrying so much stuff around!). This comes in 2 different colours - red and blue.

The second item is really cute and a very Pinterest idea - a little Pot of Messages. It comes in a really dinky little pot (which I will definitely be re-using!) and is full of 28 comforting quotes, pick me ups and fashion/beauty tips. The idea is to open one every day.

The beauty products for this month are fantastic with the most brilliant being a full size By Terry Terrybly Khol Pencil (usually £23!). The formulation is beautiful and has glitzy gold speckles (is the right hand swatch on my hand). Was so pleased to get this product. You also receive another pencil - the L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Artist Shaper, however the shade is too dark for me so I will be finding a friend to give this to.

Next is a Complexion Enhancer from My Little Beauty which is great as either a base, or mixed in with foundation. And last but not least, you also receive 100 sheets of DHC Blotting Paper. I haven't used blotting paper in years so am looking forward to trying these out.

My Little Box costs £11 per month plus £3.95 P&P. Subscribe here!

Skin: No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser

February 10, 2015

Over Christmas I didn't keep up with my skincare routine and my skin really suffered for it. I had run out of my Organic Surge Hot Cloth Cleanser and so was just taking my make-up off with a micellar water and washing my face with a gel cleanser. Perfectly good products but I don't think it was properly removing everything and so my skin ended up looking dull and dry.

I wanted to return to a trusty hot cloth cleanser and was very happy to find a gift pack of two of the No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleansers. RRP for one is £9.95 and I bought the pack of two for £12 so it was a brilliant deal - unfortunately I think it was a special Christmas offer but one to look out for. It is also currently 3 for 2 on No7 Skincare so would work out around £7 each if you bought three.

But anyway, onto the cleanser and how I've been finding it. In short, it is amazing and I've found it just as good as the classic Liz Earle Hot Cloth cleanser.  I use one pump, massage into my skin and remove with a hot flannel. It smells lovely and feels so moisturising and pleasant to use. It seems to have sorted out my dry skin and doesn't irritate it in the slightest- which has become an issue for me with some products as I have been suffering from rosacea.

It's kept my skin looking clear, fresh and moisturised since using it so this is a real winner for me and I highly recommend it. You can buy it from Boots here.

Life: A few Tiger buys

February 08, 2015

My Mum came to stay this weekend. We have had a lovely time together and saw Les Miserables at the theatre for the first time - enjoying it so much that we watched the film the next day. I have now become quite obsessed with it, and listening to all of the covers I can find on YouTube - this medley is amazing. But I digress. Yesterday we paid a visit to Richmond to visit my brother and his girlfriend and I was very happy to see there was a Tiger.

A quick 10 minute walk around the shop and I came out with four items. I love Tiger - it has so many cute bits and bobs, and all priced so reasonably! I couldn't resist this gold effect photo frame which was a bargain at £2 and is now on our fireplace (featuring a photo of Chris and I in Florida- happy times!). I also bought a pack of red polka-dot straws as I like to drink my smoothies through a straw and y'know - they just look cute. These were £2 too.

I then found this brilliant set of alphabet stamps for £4. I've started a scrapbook for the year and so have been picking up fun scrapbooking tools when I see them - this is going to be perfect for making page headings. The final purchase was this gorgeous little milk carton style jug for £3 (I think!).

Are you a Tiger fan?
