Life: Monthly Summary June

June 28, 2015

Doing:

  • Celebrating my friend Nicole's wedding - my friend flew over from Oz as a surprise for the wedding and it was so great seeing her and having all of the girls back together.
  • Spending a long weekend at the Woburn Center Parcs. We had such an amazing few days and I laughed until my stomach hurt. We did aerial adventure which was terrifying but very exhilarating.
  • Enjoying having my Dad to stay for a night and going for a yummy Pizza Express with him, my brother and Chris.
Reading:
  • I've been meaning to read one of Gi Fletcher's books and finally got my kindle charged up and downloaded 'You're the One that I want' - so far, so good!
  • Deliciously Ella's blog. Have become quite obsessed with it and now have a big love for almond butter and medjool dates!
Watching:
  • Orange is the New Black series 3 - of course! I am on episode 7 and very much enjoying it.
  • Grey's Anatomy - so the end of the last series kinda ruined me. Won't give any spoilers but am quite heartbroken.
  • Hot Girls Wanted - this is a documentary on Netflix and is about the amateur porn industry and the girls who are getting into it. It's compelling to watch and made me feel quite uncomfortable but is worth seeing.

Food: Urban Fruit

June 18, 2015

At the moment, everyone I know is loving a bit of health food action. From reading everything Deliciously Ella to buying Madeline Shaw's Get the Glow book, it's all about eating the best way possible.

I have been trying to eat more healthy recently and my downfall is snacking at work. I can have a great breakfast and dinner, but when I'm at work I just want to binge on snacks like chocolate and cups of sugary tea! These pure fruit snacks from Urban Fruit are such a perfect solution for me as they are easy to take in my bag, and fill that sweet craving that I always seem to get!

Urban Fruit snack packs* are made with 100% fruit that has been hand-picked and gently baked. They contain no sulphites, added sugars or nasty concentrates making them both delicious and nutritious- quite often these type of snacks have had lots of additives but Urban Fruit are keen to emphasize that they don't add any 'funny business'.

There are lots of different flavours from 'Tremendously Tropical' to 'Awesome Apple & Pear' and 'Cheeky Cherry'. They are available in two sizes of packs so you can decide whether you want to share, or if you want a pack all to yourself!

Urban Fruit can be found in lots of different stockists including Tesco, Waitrose, Whole Foods and Boots. You can visit their very cool website here.

Beauty: Claudia Louch Mousse Foundation and Concealer Trio

June 16, 2015

I'm sorry for going a bit AWOL with my posting lately. I have been pretty busy with life and work stuff, and my motivation has been lacking but hey ho, back to it!

Today I wanted to introduce two new products from Claudia Louch. First up is the Mousse Foundation* which is a light-as-air foundation that claims to feel as soft as silk on the skin. The foundation is formulated to glide onto skin and even out skin tone without masking the natural skin colour. The result is a soft, natural look that is shine free.

This foundation does what it claims - it really feels like applying velvet! It applies so smoothly to skin whilst feeling extremely light. I found that it was best to apply with a buffing brush and then blend in further with fingers. The coverage is very light and I found that using with MAC's MSF natural was a great combo. The only negative is that it did cling a little to a couple of dry patches on my face so it probably isn't the best formulation for dry skin and would suit more normal to oily skin types.

The other new product from Claudia Louch is their Concealer Trio* which contains a trio of different shades, giving you the ability to find the perfect blend to match your own individual skin tone. The concealer offers a full coverage, matte finish and expert blending power. I feel like it's quite similar to Benefit's Boi-ing in it's formulation and coverage. It's a great concealer for covering many different types of blemishes as you can customise the colour to suit everything from acne, to wrinkles. I really like this concealer and it's creamy consistency, and it will be really useful over summer as my skin gets more tanned.

As with all of Claudia Louch's products, both are 94% natural, hypoallergenic, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic (aka - doesn't block pores!) and free from fragrances and harsh chemicals.

The Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic Mousse Foundation is £52.50 and the Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic Concealer Trio is £35. Both are exclusively available from www.claudialouch.com
