Beauty: My Evening Skincare Routine

Last week I posted about my morning skincare routine so today I'm telling you all about my evening routine. I love the process of taking off my make-up. Of course there are days when it's the last thing I want to do, but nothing beats the feeling of a nice clean face and however tired (or drunk, ahem) I may be, I will always always cleanse my face. Here's my current routine:

1) Remove my eye makeup using the Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water. This is a bio-phase product where you shake it up before using and it's great for removing waterproof mascara.  I use this by applying to a cotton pad and gently wiping off my eye makeup.

2) Next step is to massage a pump of the No 7 Hot Cloth Cleanser into my dry skin. I usually do it around my eyes too, to get rid of any makeup still there. I then soak a flannel or muslin cloth in hot water and polish off the cleanser, and all of my makeup from the day. I find it so satisfying to see it all on the flannel!

3) The third step is fairly new into my routine but I'm loving it. I've finally got my hands on the Pixi Glow Tonic, a cult favourite in the beauty world which is an exfoliating toner and aims to give a healthy glow. I simply put some of the tonic onto a cotton wool pad and sweep over my face.

4) It's then time to moisturise! As with my morning moisturiser, I often switch up which I use but my current favourite is the Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Night Cream

5) The final step in my evening routine is to dab on a little eye cream. I'm using the Argan Eye Cream at the moment and it's a nice creamy product which feels gentle on my skin.

Beauty: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm

Everyone raves about the NYX Lip Creams and it's no surprise as to why. They are beautiful lip products and so easy to use.

I bought the shade Stockholm a few weeks ago and it's really lovely. It's more of a nude than a pink, although looks quite pink on my lips as they are naturally very red! It applies as a cream and then dries to a matte velvet finish. It feels really comfortable to wear and doesn't dry my lips like other similar products sometimes do, and is foolproof to apply.

Highly recommend this lip product and at only £5.50 you can't go wrong!

Beauty: My Morning Skincare Routine

During the cold winter months my skin has been terrible - lots of spots popping up and it was just looking so lacklustre and dull. In the New Year, I decided that enough was enough and that I was going to get up 5 minutes earlier so that I could do a proper three-step skincare routine in the morning (I used to just wash my face and that was it). I've also been making the effort to drink lots more water and both of these things have improved my skin so much!

Here's my three step routine:

1) I've been using the This Works Light Time Cleanse & Glow to start the day. It's a brightening daily cleanser and I love it. You simply rub a small amount into your dry skin, and then use wet fingertips to massage into your face for one minute. You can leave it on for ten minutes for a really intensive cleanse but it's not recommended for sensitive skin so I just do it for a minute. You then rinse off and you're good to go. It makes my skin feel so clean and fresh.

2) Step two is a refreshing spray of the La Roche Posay Serozinc. This toner type product is great for oily/combination skin and I always feel like it's doing my skin good.

3) Final step is a moisturiser. I do swap these around a little but at the moment I'm using Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Moisturiser. It's a gel like moisturiser which sinks into your skin super quickly and means that you have a great base for make-up. I can't stand the smell though!

And that's it. Super quick and easy! My evening routine will be coming up soon.

Life: A Little Catch Up

So....hi again. It's been a while since I opened blogger and wrote a post. I've had a complete lack of blog motivation - probably a mix of the time of year, it being too dark to take photos, work being absolutely manic and using whatever creativity I have left for wedding planning!

So what's being going on since December when I last posted? Obviously we had Christmas and New Year which were lovely as always. It's always so nice having those days off to completely relax, to not know what day it is and to eat lots of delicious food with family. New Year was spent with friends playing board games, going on walks and wearing my comfy clothes the whole time - perfect!

Shortly after New Year we had some really sad news that my Nana had passed away. She would have been 90 this year (so had a wonderful long life) and had been battling with dementia for the past seven years - a cruel and horrible disease. My Mum and her sisters have had to deal with losing her twice, once to the dementia and for the second time now she's passed away. She had an emotional but lovely send off and after the service we spent hours at my cousin's house chatting and catching up. It ended in a full on pizza party and us not leaving until late. Nana would have loved it.

The New Year has also brought wedding planning to the front of my mind. We get married in August and time is flying - it's going to be here before we know it! We've done lots of the big things but it's all of the little things which seems to take up so much time. We're so excited though and it's amazing how exciting all of the people around us are for it. I can do a proper wedding planning update if anyone is interested.

We are booking our mini-moon tomorrow as we're planning to do a couple of nights away after the wedding, somewhere in the UK and then we want to go on honeymoon a few months later so we have it to look forward to. This year is going to be full of fun!

That's it for now - our Indian takeaway is on it's way and I'm going to carry on watching my current obsession, Gossip Girl. Re-watching every episode is making me super happy. I hope everyone is well and hopefully I'm going to get back on track with blogging now!
